Thank you for visiting my blog!
WHO AM I?
I’m a writer, wife, and mother. I have always had a knack and passion for the craft of writing and obtained a Master’s degree in Creative Writing to pursue my love for writing.
I love to share my inner thoughts with the world, even though that can be scary. I have learned to allow myself to be vulnerable in order to help others. Here, there is no shame. My thoughts are free.
I write fiction and nonfiction. For non fiction, I am currently working on a memoir and a few books about overcoming church hurt and spiritual abuse. My purpose is to share my journey in hopes that it will help those struggling with their faith or belief because of church hurt.
As far as fiction, I write about topics that are sometimes considered “dark”, but my writing style mainly falls under Women’s fiction and African Lit. I write with a focus on exploring the journeys of Africans in the diaspora.
What else….I spend way too much time in coffee shops drinking mochas, writing, reading, and people watching.
A little bit more about me…
I was born in Paris, France and moved to the U.S. in the late 90’s. My parents are originally from D.R. Congo. I lived in Dallas, Texas most of my life and moved to Arizona in 2013. I’m married to my best friend and together we have three wonderful human beings!
I started writing seriously when I was in college, but I always knew that I was a writer, since I was a little girl. I have have writing in a journal since I can remember– and nothing excites me more than escaping with a good novel.
I have a side hobby on YouTube. There I am known as Desert Dweller Debz, where I post videos about all things Arizona + Adventure.
